Simple DIY Patriotic Picnic Caddy
Several years ago, I created a Simple DIY Patriotic Picnic Caddy and shared it as a guest post on a blog that no longer exists. Recently, while searching for something else, I found these photos and realized it would be the perfect time to share this fun project with you.
Here’s a look at what you will need:
Tool caddy - I found this one at JoAnn’s a very long time ago. I looked on Amazon for something similar but they all have divided sections and are so nice I wouldn’t want to paint them.
Red and white paint
Paintbrushes - I used sponge brushes but you can use whatever you prefer or have on hand.
3 Mason jars - I used these to create my own sections in the caddy. If you have one that is already divided, you won’t need these.
Silhouette or other cutting machine
The first step is to paint the caddy red giving it a vibrant and eye-catching look that will add a touch of style to your outdoor gatherings.
Next, I painted the mason jars white for some contrasting color. You can skip this step and leave them clear or if your caddy is already divided, you wont need them at all.
While I was waiting for all of that to dry I used my Silhouette machine to cut out the word “Picnic” to add to the front of the caddy. Be sure to measure the space before painting.
Then I attached the vinyl to the caddy and tied some red & white twine around the mason jars, Finally, I added some red plastic silverware, napkins, and some pretty flowers in a white vase I had in the cupboard.
That’s all there is to it!
This DIY Painted Picnic Caddy is the perfect project to add a patriotic flair to your 4th of July and all your summer celebrations.
