Amazon Lately… {September 2021}

I found some really great deals on Amazon lately and because I love everything so much I wanted to share them with you!

Let’s get right to it…

Apple Pencil Silicone Nib Caps

A couple of years ago I splurged a bit and bought an iPad and an Apple Pencil to go with it. I love them but because they were so expensive I am super protective and careful with them. Sometimes, I feel like I hit the tablet too hard with the pencil and I’m afraid I will damage one or both of them.

Please don’t misunderstand me here, I’m not slamming the pencil into the tablet but there have been a couple of times that I did hit it pretty hard accidentally. Thankfully everything was safe.

I’m not even sure how I came across these Apple Pencil Silicone Nibs but I’m so happy I did!

They give it just enough “cushion” that I don’t feel like I’m going to crack the screen and they still glide effortlessly across the screen without dragging or getting stuck.

I was afraid that they would slip off and I would be losing them all over the house but nope. They stay in place and don’t come off unless I take them off. I did lose one in the blankets on the couch though. It must have gotten stuck on them at some point without me noticing.

They come in a huge variety of color options and after more time than I would like to say, I settled on this blue/grey assortment set. I’m thinking now I should grab the all pink set (links below) too but I will wait…maybe.

Seneca Falls Book Series

I don’t usually include books in this monthly round-up but I have to share this one. I’m from a very small but very historic town in Western NY called Seneca Falls. It’s located in the beautiful Finger Lakes area and is the birthplace of Women’s Rights.

A few weeks ago, I was on Facebook and a friend posted how they had found the entire 6-Book, Seneca Falls Series in their mom’s basement. I’m an avid reader and lived in this town almost my entire life…how have I not heard about this series?! I headed right over to Amazon to see if I could find it and of course, I did.

AMAZON DESCRIPTION:

In her historically authentic and cleverly entertaining first novel, Monfredo skillfully meshes life in Seneca Falls, N.Y., immediately before the First Women's Rights Convention in 1848 with a page-turning suspense story. Charming spinster librarian Glynis Tryon, like her fellow townspeople, is shocked by the sudden deaths of wealthy Friedrich Steicher and his wife, but she is more surprised by the appearance of a woman who says she is the daughter Steicher never knew. Before the woman can prove her allegation, however, she is murdered. Although suspicion falls heavily on Friedrich's only son, Karl, he denies the woman was his sister, even when her husband comes to town to lay a claim on the estate. Unofficially deputized, Glynis questions those who might have spoken to the woman, and continues the investigation of a second, related murder when the sheriff becomes ill. Historical figures, foremost Elizabeth Cady Stanton, are woven seamlessly into this well-modulated, satisfying tale.

Many of the people commented on the Facebook post that she used the physical landscape of the town as it is now and not exactly what it looked like at that time in history. Personally, I think they were being a little too nit-picky. No matter what the differences are I love that these books celebrate life in our little town and am so excited to start reading them.

My daughter lives right down the street from Elizabeth Cady Stanton’s Home which is very cool since she is a character in the first book. Other books in the series center around the underground railroad and mention Harriet Tubman, who lived in Auburn, NY (about 15 miles East).

I love a good mystery and am excited to read this historical fiction about a murder in Seneca Falls. Have you heard of or read this book series? I would love to know what you think.

External Shipping Label Holder

A few weeks ago I was asked to review the Munbyn Thermal Shipping Label Printer and I needed to purchase a few extras to make it work the way I wanted it to.

It came with a few labels to get started but I know I will need more eventually. The labels come either on a roll or in a stack and I wanted to pick up this External Shipping Label Holder to keep them neat and tidy on my desk.

MUNBYN Thermal Rainbow Labels

I was also asked to review the MUNBYN Mini Bear Label Printer (look for the review post this week). This product also comes with some sample labels but I wanted a few more options so I picked up this colorful 10 pack. There are a lot of options to choose from (see more options below) including cute animal prints and continuous strips.

I will talk more about how much fun this label maker is to use in my review post but I have to say that it’s SUPER easy to use and I love how it automatically knows which label is loaded into the machine so I know how much room I have to write on.
