Reader Requested Week: $1,000 Savings Challenge Printable

To wrap up Reader Requested Week, I’m sharing one of the most requested financial printables I’ve had lately—a $1,000 Savings Challenge that’s simple, flexible, and perfect for cash stuffing.

Saving money can feel overwhelming, especially when you’re trying to juggle everyday expenses, bills, and everything else life throws your way.

That’s why I love savings challenges so much. They break a big goal into small, manageable steps and give you something visual to track along the way.

This printable was designed to help you save consistently without stress—and to fit right into your existing budgeting system.

How the $1,000 Savings Challenge Works

The goal is simple: save $1,000 at your own pace. Each sheet is broken into three months, making it easy to focus on short-term progress while still working toward a bigger financial win.

Each week, add the designated amount to your cash stuffing envelopes. Every time you add money to your savings, color in the circle for that week on the challenge sheet.

Watching it fill up over time is incredibly motivating and helps you stay consistent.

Designed for Cash Stuffing & A6 Binders

Once cut out, each challenge card measures 3.5" x 6", which means it fits perfectly inside cash stuffing envelopes used in an A6 binder.

If you use this type of cash envelope system, these printables slide right in with no adjustments needed.

Because there are three months per sheet, you can easily:

  • Focus on one quarter at a time

  • Repeat the challenge multiple times a year

  • Pair it with other sinking funds or savings goals

It’s a great option for building an emergency fund, saving for a holiday, planning a big purchase, or just getting into the habit of setting money aside regularly.

Printing & Use Ideas

You can print this challenge as many times as you need. Use one for a single goal or keep multiple challenges going at once if you like to separate savings categories.

It works beautifully tucked into a binder, planner pocket, or any envelope system.

I recommend printing on heavy cardstock so it holds up to frequent handling.

Since you’ll be checking it often, coloring it in, and moving it in and out of your cash envelopes or binder, sturdier paper helps it last longer and keeps it looking nice over time.

SUPPLIES I RECOMMEND FOR PRINTING

A PRINTER

If you’re going to be printing in color, I really recommend investing in a Canon Mega Tank Printer. The quality of the finished product is amazing! If you don’t need a color printer, I highly recommend a laser printer like the Brother L23 Series. You will save hundreds on ink. You can also get a color laser printer, which I would LOVE to have!

PAPER

For everyday printables, planners, and coloring pages for the kiddos, I normally use Hammermill Printer Paper, 20 Lb. I love that you can get a small box of 3 reams instead of having to buy one at a time or a whole case of 10.

If I want something a little nicer, I use this laser paper, which is incredibly smooth and has very little to no ghosting on the other side. This is perfect if you like to use pens/markers that are prone to bleeding through to the other side.

For printing on A5 paper, I use this Blank 6-Hole Punched A5 Paper. You can also get it without the holes, but it’s $6-7 more. Which I think is odd because it’s usually the other way around, and you have to pay more for the hole punching.
