Year End Review | Free Printable Journal

As the year comes to an end, it is time to reflect on what has happened and prepare for the future. This is a time when we can take an inventory of our lives and make necessary changes.

This printable journal can be used as a tool for reflection and goal-setting for the new year. For example, it can help you identify your strengths, weaknesses, opportunities, and threats in order to set better goals for yourself.

Here’s a look at how I reviewed one of the goals I set for 2022.

This year, I set out to learn more about the world of business. I wanted to see how it differed from my previous work in the corporate world. I had many successes this year, but also some challenges that were not as easy to overcome.

Thanks to all of you for supporting me and the Krafty Planner this year!

I learned a lot about the different aspects of running a business, such as marketing, finance, and operations. Which prompted me to make some changes in how I run the Krafty Planner Blog and Shop.

Some of those changes worked, and others didn’t work so well but lessons were learned and adjustments were made.

In order to be successful in the new year, we need to learn from the past. We should take a look back at the mistakes of last year and learn from them. It is crucial that we don't make the same mistakes that we did last year so that our success rate will be higher.

In addition, I have been able to make connections with other entrepreneurs in the community who are working on similar projects. As an introvert, making new connections has been the hardest part. I’m proud that I struck out and collaborated with some great bloggers this year and will hopefully continue to work with them in the future.

  • Reflect on your successes and pinpoint three reasons behind them. Did you have a mentor? Attend a conference? Enroll in a course?

  • Can you think of a mistake, problem, or flop that occurred this past year? What did you learn from it? How can you avoid repeating it next year?

  • How can you be more strategic in creating more successful risk-taking ventures next year? It’s important to consider your return on investment and to do some risk assessment before making any decisions.

  • What specific skills did you learn this year? Did you use them or do you have plans to put them into practice next year?

JOURNALING SUPPLIES I RECOMMEND

Even though you only need a pen and paper, here are some of my favorite journaling supplies if you want to check them out:

  • I like to use a few different notebooks for journaling but my favorite is this Leuchtturm1917 Softcover. I prefer the squared pages but you can also get the dot grid, lined, or blank formats.

  • If you would rather use a spiral binding, these notebooks are the best! I love that they come in a three-pack so I always have an extra one on hand. These are also a squared format but I think they are available in lined and dot-grid too.

  • To be honest, my go-to pen is a simple, classic black Bic but when I want something a little fancier I use either use these Muji Gel Pens or these Micron Sakura Pigma.

  • Get creative with your journaling and add some Washi Tape, Stickers, or if you’re artistic you can draw your own doodles.

  • Sometimes I like to add photos to my journaling and over the years I’ve tried a bunch of different printers. I started out using this Fujifilm Instax Mini but it wasn’t very practical to carry around all the time. Since the quality was so much better when I use my phone for pictures I decided to splurge on the Canon Ivy Mini Printer. It connects directly to my phone through the app and easily prints on 2x3 sticker photo paper that I can add right to my journal page instantly.

I hope today’s post inspires you to pick up your journal and start writing! Here are a few Everyday Journaling Prompts to get you started.
